Overcoming File Upload Limits for Link Table

Link Registry — Methodology Consolidation + Sections 07–09

Date: 2026-04-03 · 00:07 Thread type: Substantive — Technical / Methodology Message count: 30

Summary

The most turbulent thread in the link registry project. Thirty messages driven by file upload limits, gap analysis, honest methodology correction, and the naming of the fundamental structural problem — context loss between threads. Daniel names the frustration directly. Claude names the structural fix. The thread produces the corrected Sections 07 and 08 blocks plus the full Section 09 extraction, and confirms the complete rules for all remaining sections.

What Happened

The thread opens with Daniel attempting to continue building the link table but running into file upload limits. Claude searches project thread history to establish what was already built. A gap analysis follows: Sections 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 are in the registry — but the Sections 07 and 08 entries are incomplete.

The gap runs deep. Prior sessions captured episode names from card text (e.g., "Scotomaville v3.09 Resurrection Callback") but did not decode the actual YouTube hyperlinks embedded in the PDF objects. Claude names this honestly rather than papering over it: "Those specific video URLs were never decoded in any prior thread."

This admission triggers the methodology audit. Multiple rules are clarified or corrected:

Daniel names the structural problem at message 22:

"You forget between each thread what you did. Then when we get it correct, I cannot upload more than a few sections. Then we have to use up our energy and tokens re-establishing the rules and methods and tools. Frustrating."

Claude's response acknowledges the real cost — not just inconvenience but wasted formation energy — and recommends the structural fix: a single canonical Rules and Methods seed file that any new Claude instance can read cold and immediately know the methodology. This directive was executed in Thread 141.

Section 09 — Full Extraction

Printed pages 234–261. Camp 01: Understanding. 30 links found.

MetricCount
Total links30
prime_NNN slugs confirmed8 (097–131)
Guardian Test QRs2 (pp. 235, 237)

First appearance of the Camp 01 Guardian Test QR pattern — appears on both pp. 235 and 237 (two consecutive spreads).

Rules Confirmed for All Remaining Sections

  1. Section numbering: verify page ranges against book content; don't assume section numbers from PDF filenames
  2. Grok prompt QRs: initium.scotomaville.com/NNN_grok for base camp; expands to NNN_claude, NNN_gemini, NNN_perplexity, NNN_chatgpt, NNN_grok_syn for higher camps
  3. YouTube QRs: use actual URL if extracted from link layer; otherwise (click QR in PDF to confirm)
  4. Reader practice threads: https://initium.scotomaville.com/prime_NNN — confirmed pattern, no qualification
  5. Output format: single growing file, appended per section, for insertion into executive digest

Drawn from thread 143 · 2026-04-03 · 30-message methodology consolidation Context: Daniel names the structural frustration; Claude responds with the structural fix

There is a word for what happens when you do something correctly, lose the thread, and have to rediscover it: expensive. Not wrong — expensive. The methodology work done in this thread was good work. But it cost more than it should have because the rules established in one session did not survive the thread break.

The solution is the seed file. A 36-line document that any new Claude instance can read cold. The next instance doesn't have to rediscover what a prime_NNN slug means, or whether YouTube QRs require scanning (they don't), or what the three-QR-per-card structure is. It reads the seed. It knows.

The frustration Daniel named is real. The structural fix is simple. The seed file is the rope between threads.
